How it works
- Grant Photos access. One permission prompt on first launch. We never read EXIF metadata you wouldn't expect.
- Scan runs in two phases. A metadata-only pass surfaces obvious duplicates in seconds. A Vision pass then finds near-duplicates and blurry shots in the background — you can start swiping during it.
- Swipe or tap through clusters. Each card is a group of similar shots. Swipe left for "clean up" (keep the sharpest, trash the rest) or right to keep all — or tap the Clean up and Keep buttons beneath the card, which do exactly the same thing. Tap "Pick photos" to choose individuals. Screenshot groups clear whole — tap in to rescue one. Video cards play in place, at up to 8x, so a long clip takes seconds to judge.
- Results lead with what is actually taking the room. If videos are most of what you can free, videos are the first row — rather than a large number at the top explained by something further down the list.
- Apply. Photodrift hands the trash list to Apple's PhotoKit. iOS shows the standard "Delete N photos?" prompt — required by Apple. The deletions land in Recently Deleted, recoverable for 30 days.

Privacy you can audit
Photodrift does not collect any data. The privacy nutrition label on the App Store will read "Data Not Collected" — the only honest answer. The app has no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that phone home, and no network code outside StoreKit (which Apple handles directly for the IAP). See the privacy policy for specifics.
